Why we changed our number

We needed to update our telephone system and decided that the system provided by Surgery Line would give the most benefit to our patients. Surgery Line is used by over 1500 dental and GP surgeries in the UK. The only way we could change to this new system was to change our number.

Changing our phone system will effectively increase the number of phone lines into the practice and route your call through to the right person.  This means that your call will be answered more quickly than before and you will be less likely to hear the engaged tone when you call in. The only reason for changing our telephone system is to provide our patients with a better service.

New Phone System

r
To enhance the service we provide our callers, we have changed our telephone number to:

0844 3879999

As from 29th February 2010

With the new system,

  • Your calls will be allocated more efficiently and answered more quickly
  • your calls should be shorter
  • in most cases will not cost you more than a local call

Over 1,500 GP and dental surgeries have now switched to 0844 numbers for the reason that their patients receive a better service. There are many benefits, but the main one is that it is now easier for patients to get through to make appointments. This is also supported by evidence from independent practice patient surveys, which repeatedly highlight the improved service. Whilst we appreciate that change can be inconvenient, we are confident that you will see an improvement in the telephone service we are able to offer you.
